Medicare for All hosts forum to educate community on single payer options – WIFR

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) — One local group is working towards providing accessible healthcare for all, by hosting a forum to educate the public on single payer solutions.

Medicare For All is a Facebook group made up of about 60 members. They host a forum and rally this afternoon to advocate and educate people about single payer options. The group believes that it is important to educate the community on this option because they say everyone should have access to affordable healthcare.

“If you can’t afford the healthcare, you go without. That to me, is a human rights issue. Our goal is to educate people on how we can do better in this country. The greatest country in the world, the wealthiest country in the world and we still have people who don’t have healthcare,” said administrator for Medicare For All, Bill Becker.

The group plans on hosting more events in the future to keep the conversation of single payer options going. They also hope to get involved with congressmen to figure out a solution where healthcare is accessible for everyone.
