Medicare presentation taking place April 10 – Zanesville Times Recorder

ODI making local Medicare presentation

ZANESVILLE – The Ohio Department of Insurance will hold a Welcome to Medicare presentation for soon-to-be Medicare recipients at 6 p.m. April 10 at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors, 160 N. Fourth St.

Topics will include Medicare Part A and Be benefits, Part D prescription drug benefits, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare Advantage plans, financial assistance and key deadlines.

OUZ having safe zone training

ZANESVILLE – Safe zone training will be provided from 5 to 8 p.m. April 12 in Room 110 of Elson Hall at Ohio University Zanesville.

Associate Professor of Philosophy Amy White, in collaboration with the Southeastern Coalition and the Ohio University LGBT Center, will educate attendees on how to create a safer, more civil community for all individuals; particularly those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

After the training, participants will receive resource materials and a safe zone card indicating they have had the training.

Zanesville Schools and library system receives grant

ZANESVILLE – The Zanesville City School District and the Muskingum County Library System were recently awarded a $3,000 ILEAD Grant for a joint project.

The project will link education elements through Commons Sense Media.org. Curriculum recently adopted by the school district with family conversations about acceptable use of online resources, access to devices, WiFi, and other resources and digital content will be available through the library system.

ILEAD Grants are through the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services with affiliated support from Kent State University School of Library Information and Science.
