Taylor County 4-H to hold Youth Food and Nutrition Camp – Big Country Homepage

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Taylor County 4-H will hold a food and nutrition camp to teach kids about food safety and nutrition.

The Youth Food and Nutrition Camp will be held Tuesday, August 1 at the Taylor County Extension Office on the grounds of the Taylor County Expo Center. The camp will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The camp will give kids the opportunity to learn about food safety and good nutrition through the MyPlate food guidance system. Hands on activities and demonstrations will teach kids kitchen safety as they prepare their own lunches. At the end of the day, campers will receive a packet with recipes and nutrition information.

Registration for the camp is $5 for 4-H members, and $15 for non-members. The registration cost covers lunch and supplies. The camp is open to children who have completed the 2nd through 11th grades. The deadline for registration is noon on Tuesday, July 25.
